Maritime Museum
Housed in the old Dutch East India Company VOC Warehouse in the fort of Galle that was originally built in 1671. The museum was open to the public on 9th May 1992. In the museum you will be able to learn about shipwrecks, evidence of old trade routes, old fishing techniques, warfare equipment and ocean life around Sri Lanka. And even if you’re not interested in maritime history, it is worth going in just to explore this amazing historic Warehouse building.
