DAY 01: AIRPORT | NEGOMBO

Arrival at Colombo International Airport: Here, you will warmly be welcomed by a representative of Hayleys Travels.

After the formalities at the airport you will be transported in an air-conditioned vehicle to your hotel in Negombo and spend the rest of the day at leisure adapting to the tropical weather and the true essence of Sri Lanka.

DAY 02: NEGOMBO | DAMBULLA

After breakfast, you will proceed to Dambulla en-route visiting the Kaludiya Pokuna, which is a forest with archaeological remains in Kandalama.

It is a beautiful place which is ideal for a nature trek and to see ancient ruins which lie inside the forest. This site will immensely excite birdwatchers with about 120 species of birds. Those who love peace and tranquility will be thrilled entering this calm place.

DAY 03: HOT AIR BALLOON RIDE | PIDURANGALA ROCK | DAMBULLA

Today, you will be leaving early morning to enjoy an optional hot air balloon ride.

As you are flying over the jungle you may see not only the wondrous sights from the air starting from Kandalama, Dambulla in the cultural triangle but also elephants roaming freely, variety of birds, wild life, water buffaloes standing in the paddy fields and monkeys swinging from the trees.

Thereafter, you will be going on a hike to the Pidurangala Rock.

DAY 04: DAMBULLA | MAHIYANGANAYA

After breakfast, you will proceed to Mahiyanganaya and check in to your property.

Make sure to explore the wildlife in Mahiyangana by paying a visit to the Maduru Oya National Park and embark on a game ride. The specialty of the park is that you will find a lot of endemic species both in the form of animals as well as plants. Hop on a safari tour around the park and enjoy the wilderness. Return to your property after the visits.

DAY 05: WEDDA VILLAGE TOUR

Today, you will be taken on a Wedda village tour. The term “Wedda” translates to “people of the forests” and members of this indigenous community have been taking refuge in the Dambana forest for centuries. Learn more about their fascinating lifestyle of a forest dweller and how they have adapted to the changing times. You may also experience the traditional rituals of Wedda’s which are bow and arrow shooting, Kiri Koraha dance (Traditional dance), Lighting the fire with “Kahanda” Stones, Collecting Bee’s honey and soon. Later visit the Wedda village museum.

Thereafter, spend the rest of the day at leisure in the hotel.

DAY 06: MAHIYANGANAYA | KANDY

After breakfast, you will proceed to Kandy and do some sightseeing including a visit to the Temple of the Tooth Relic. The sacred Temple of the Tooth is a vital Buddhist site that contains a tooth of Buddha which was collected from his funeral pyre, also this beautiful temple holds great ancient history and artefacts.

DAY 07: KANDY | NUWARA ELIYA

This morning you will catch a train to Nanu Oya leaving the Kandy station at 09:20 hours.

Get ready to traverse from the humid weather to a chilly surrounding in just a few hours. You will proceed to the hill station of Nuwara Eliya today. The "little England" of Sri Lanka, home to all the tea estates manufacturing the best-flavoured tea, an immense field of beautiful flowers and vegetables.

In the afternoon, you will visit a tea factory to witness and discover more about the process of transforming the fresh tea leaves into delightful sips of tea.

DAY 08: NUWARA ELIYA | HORTON PLAINS

With a packed breakfast you'll be leaving for the Horton Plains National Park and hike to the World’s End and Bakers Falls - one of the best Nuwara Eliya waterfalls! Horton Plains National Park is capped by mountainous grassland and cloud forests on Sri Lanka’s highest elevation over 2100m above sea level.

DAY 09 - DAY 10: NUWARA ELIYA | DICKWELLA

After breakfast, you will proceed to Dickwella. The Dickwella beach provides a perfect experience for families and large groups. The specialty of the beach being covered by sandbars, reefs and other formations in order to prevent swimmers accidentally ranging out into the sea making it ideal for children swim and play to their heart's content.

DAY 11: DICKWELLA | COLOMBO

After breakfast, drive to the bustling city of Colombo.

Thereafter, you will be taken on a double-decker tour to have a glimpse of Colombo, where you will spend the day visiting, the Arcade – Independence Square, the Gangaramaya Temple, the National Museum, Pettah floating market and concluding your day with a shopping experience in Colombo.

DAY 12: COLOMBO | AIRPORT

Today you will be transferred to the Bandaranaike International Airport via the express way to catch your flight back home.
